PGA free lesson month

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

May is PGA free lesson month where the PGA Pros give free 10 minute lessons. This is an event that is growing every year. Now they have made the lessons into 3 categories new, casual, and avid golfers depending on how long you’ve been playing the game or how good you are.

This is a great opportunity for all golfers to get a professional person’s help with their golf game. Keep this in mind next May and run out to your golf course and get a few lessons to help you with your game over the summer.

Golf starts talking about an anti-doping policy

Friday, September 21st, 2007

So we all know that all of the major sports and sporting events have a policy on using performance-enhancing substances and now golf does too. On Thursday the World Golf Foundation announced that the PGA Tour and European Tour have come together to create a policy on using steroids and other performance drugs.

They have just started creating this policy so it will need a lot of work like what drugs to prohibit, the consequences for using them, and the testing procedure. It seems that the PGA and USGA are going to wait on the PGA Tour to develop their policy before they make one for their organizations.

It begs the question, does steroid use play as much a part in hitting the ball or is it skill?
